May 23 – The Qatar Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, to be played December 1-18, has unveiled a total prize pool of $36.5 million, an $11 million increase on the reported 2021 prize pool of $25.5 million.
The 16-team 2025 edition will be the second organised under the FIFA banner. The 2021 tournament was also hosted in Qatar with Algeria beating Tunisia 2-0 in the final.

May 15 – Globe-trotting FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, continued his diplomatic tour this week, appearing at the Saudi Arabia-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh where he outlined bold revenue targets for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The ambitious FIFA chief is targeting $1 billion in revenue for the tournament – nearly double the $570 million generated during the 2023 edition in Australia and New Zealand.

May 8 – FIFA has confirmed the eight Brazilian cities that will host matches during the 2027 Women’s World Cup on the South American continent.
President Gianni Infantino, flanked by high-profile Brazilians during the announcement on Wednesday, awarded Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo hosting duties for the tournament.

April 4 – The United States are set to have their second World Cup within a five-year time span after FIFA confirmed they are the only bidders for the 2031 Women’s World Cup. For 2035 the women will be headed for the UK after FIFA revealed the home nations are ‘sole bidders’ for the tournament.
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland submitted a joint expression of interest in March to hold the World Cup.
