I’m currently working on my leaving and returning to the Fujifilm ecosystem blog post, but this will take a bit more time (it’s going to be a BIG one…). In the meantime, I wanted to share a bit of my last weekend with you :-)
Saturday morning, 10 a.m.; the first snowflakes start to hit the ground. By noon, it was clear I wouldn’t be taking the car out for the rest of the day. Luckily I was already done with my grocery shopping, so I spent the rest of my day playi
I’ll be honest–we rarely dislike the neck and wrist straps we test here at MirrorLessons. I would guess that this is because most of the products we test have been around for a while, and ...
To enthusiasts, the selfie is a sign of decline, of self-indulgence. Digital camera sales are in decline. They have been for 5 years, the peak occurring between 2009 and 2011. And just what killed those sales? The smartphone.
That despite Nikon giving us the D5000 with a selfie-friendly swivel screen. That despite mirrorless cameras being lighter and smaller, and easier to ratchet into selfie position. Thumb on the trigger! Say Cheese! That despite smartphone-controlled remote releases,
Member Neill Soden got his hands on the Fuji X100T. He has a lot of nice family oriented images so I asked him to talk about his images and his opinion (...)
So what can one do with the 50-140 that you can't with the 55-200? I recently had the opportunity to try out Fuji's new 50-140 F2.8 OIS WR sealed lens. The whole time I'm asking myself if I should replace my 55-200 mm with this lens. Actually I'm still up in the air about it and this blog post serves to explore why I should buy this lens. The Fujifilm 50-140 is no doubt a fine piece of glass with its constant 2.8 aperture. It is at 995g considerably heavier than the 55-200 at 580g. T
Let's continue where we left off, with the user review of the Camdiox focal reducer. Let me reiterate that this is just that, a user review and not an excessively methodological evaluation, although we'll briefly examine the technical specifics behind the concept. This review centers on the Fuji version but I see no reason the Sony version of this adapter would be different. It would also be relevant to the m43 version, taking into account c
This morning was the first time I missed a deadline since I started Mirrorless Journey. I usually post every Monday morning. Why did I miss? Because I spent all weekend (and most of last week) working on my Chrome camera profiles for many Micro 4/3 camera.
The Streethunters.net Readers Exhibition is taking place in Athens at the Mosaic Bar / Athens Gallery. 30 photographs are on display until the 30th of January 2015.
Full frame cameras, as we well know, are the craze among mirrorless users these days, particularly after Sony released a string of quite affordable models during the last year. If we try to be concise and to the point, these are the main arguments in favor of "Full Frame" superiority:
* Inherent ability to achieve shallow DoF * Better "light gathering" capability, resulting in superior ISO performance
Other advantages such as increased dynamic range and color depth are rarely
Say HELLO to the Fujifilm selfie-ready X-A2! I have in my hand a beautiful pre-production white X-A2 with two new lenses, the XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II and XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS II. When atta...
Switching to the Fuji X system has been easier than I thought. The cameras rock and I am happy with my decision. Do I miss Nikon and the D800? Absolutely. Especially the full-frame sensor. But it was time to move on. My type of photography is currently better suited for the Fuji X system. Are there downsides as well? I have not seen many but will probably experience some sooner than later. To get a better overview of my current equipment, please check out the according page on this blog.
Shooting weddings, street, family…anything…. with the Fuji X100s, ….the camera with soul!
Ok, so I know I am late to the party but hey, being late is fashionable right? So after much deliberation I purchased a Fuji X100s (a few months before the Fuji X100T was announced) for several reasons.
As a documentary wedding photographer I’m always looking for something to add to may arsenal of tools to allow me capture special moments. I had read all the technical reviews and real world usages, I
It's proving to be my favourite camera and this week I took my Fujifilm X100s to one of the most camera-punishing places I explore. If you were wondering, no
We hear, read and talk about camera equipment all the time, but doing so inevitably leads us into the perilous trap of arguing too much about which brand/camera/lens is better than the other. The rise of mirrorless cameras ...
I'm not going to go over all detailed specs of the camera or peep pixels; that you can find elsewhere online. I want to give the feel of the camera and its workings from the point of view of a phot...
