The concept of self-assembling structures actually predates 3D printing by some time, but the ability to print complex mixtures of materials using 3D printers makes it far easier to build structures that will transform when the proper energy is provided (hot water, electric current, etc). The so-called "4-D printed" parts generally mix two materials with dissimilar responses to stimuli like the application of heat - by varying which sides of the printed component are printed of one material or another, and the ability to vary the thickness and internal structure during fabrication, the end result can be a stick that becomes the MIT logo when warmed up. The same capabilities might one day provide simpler structures that could be placed on the moon and then unfold as a high-tech form of oragami to form habitation structures and other larger structured facilities using only the sun's heat.
Via Build Green
The Windows operating system includes several accessibility features that makes using Windows easier, for people with age-related or other disabilities. By the time folks cross fifties, most will have vision, hearing, or dexterity impairments. Have dexterity and mobility impairments? Activate a window by hovering over it with your mouse or learn how to use the Windows computer without a keyboard or mouse. Having trouble seeing things on your computer screen? You can use the Windows Magnifier, make the Windows Cursor more visible and even make text easier to read. The Narrator is another built-in tool that be used to read text aloud. Most 3D printers use stepper motors to control the movement of the extruder head. If you could actually print those motors it would be one more big step toward self-replicating hardware. Via Artilect FabLab Toulouse

The FuzzBot is an awesome, fast, fully autonomous small Arduino robot that everyone loves!!! It uses the compact Pololu ZumoBot Chassis kit for a great drive system, and uses a Parallax Ping sensor to sense proximity, to make the FuzzBot fully autonomous.
C’est en menant une étude comparative sur la performance des scans des lecteurs de QR Codes que la start up Ubleam a conçu le Bleam. Ce tag dédié au marketing mobile se veut plus performant qu’un code 2D traditionnel.
