For the nation's ultra-high-net-worth individuals, giving a little — relatively speaking — can add up to a lot. Through the end of last year, according to analysis by Forbes, the top 25 philanthropists in the United States had given away a total of $241 billion. Their collective net worth stood at about $1.6 trillion, giving this group of philanthropists a lifetime giving rate of about 15%.
