Tips 1: Get them on social. Whether it's posting from their own personal account or a corporate account, encourage your CFOs, CEOs and CMOs to participate themselves and provide support and training to avoid any faux pas. 2: Simulate a crisis. By simulating a potential crisis that could hit the brand, you enlighten the C-suite to the power of social media and also the potential damage it can wreak if you haven't invested in social media listening and community management. 3: Identify the balance of your website traffic sources. Highlighting the traffic sources to the company website will demonstrate where it is over-reliant and hence vulnerable. For example, if the bulk of your web traffic comes from search, then growing your social traffic to diversify your traffic sources will be an asset when search positions fluctuate or if the company is hit by a Google penalty or algorithm update. Social media is also a significant contributor to search engine optimisation.

So teens aren't dropping out of Facebook completely, but they are moving on to other channels. The problem I have with this survey is that it does not include WhatsApp or Snapchat or other mobile apps that teens are using now.

Picking social media management tools can be difficult. There are a plethora to choose from. We’ve taken some of the hassle out of the process by providing 16 tools that can help businesses with their social efforts. In addition, there have been many changes in the third-party Facebook app provider space recently. Wildfire, a company that was acquired by Google in 2012, announced they will no longer be building new features or signing up new customers for their Social Marketing Suite. And North Social, once a stand-alone third-party app provider, was recently acquired by Vocus, an enterprise-focused company that exclusively offers a suite of marketing products and services. This infographic is also helpful for folks who are preparing to migrate away from Wildfire and North Social/Vocus. These specialized tools can be used in place of specific products normally offered within enterprise-level marketing suites. A little bit about our research process: To be as objective as possible, all of the information for the infographic was pulled directly from the websites of each of the sixteen services featured. When something was unclear, we personally reached out to companies for clarification.

You must have a pulse on what type of influencers your potential consumers are looking to and a pulse on what those influencers are talking about, engaging with, and what would interest them. I’m going to reiterate that last point because it’s crucial: Think about how you can help these influencers and what you can do to interest them. Not the other way around. Don’t campaign based on what you think you know, do the research. Read blogs, spend time on certain social platforms, dig through hashtags. You’ve created buyer personas to lead you to these verticals now create influencer personas.
