Leah Kalish and a growing group of teachers and educators have committed to bring a mindfulness approach along with movement to school children of all ages from early childhood development through K to 12. UCSD Center for MIndfulness holds it yearly conference in early February: Bridging the Hearts and Minds of Youth: MIndfulness in Clincal Practice, Education and Reserach where the growing number of educators, researchers, and clinicians come together to share what is working. Google "Mindfulness & Children" to see what is being done around the globe. So much good information and sharing is available.

GENEROSITY, COMPASSION, CHRISTIAN Dobri Dobrev is a man who lost his hearing in WWII and walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of Sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.
Though a well-recognized fixture around several of the city’s chuches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying Bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living entirely off his monthly state pension of 80 euros and the kindness of others. |

This is a great article. I believe on of the most powerful aspects of adopting a mindfulness practice is making fear your ally. |
The insights into being a Chair come from the comments to Leo's article.
Vistage was started by Bob Nourse in 1957 and back then known as TEC (The Executive Committee)
For me I have gotten away from the word "expert." I use the term resource as a resource has expertise that he/she shares.
The problem I have found with people who are brought in as experts, is that when things go wrong, it is the expert that gets blamed.
The role of the Chair as he/she works on themselves to become a world-class human, they also share their journey by challenging their Vistage group to do the same in their lives. It is about creating the high performance organization by making it necessary and possible for each person to become better tomorrow at what they do and who they are than they were today. It is holding oneself and the organization both responsible and accountable for doing what needs to be done to create their vision by accomplishing what needs to be accomplished to make it happen.
There are never excuses because in an organization of competent people, there are only results.
From the wisdom of Lee Thayer in his book: Leadership: Thinking, Being, Doing and what he calls his Thought-Prodders:
