R&S®EB500 Monitoring Receiver from Rohde & Schwarz...Not low cost, but could not resist !

R&S®EB500 Monitoring Receiver from Rohde & Schwarz...Not low cost, but could not resist ! | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

Yes, not really low cost, but I could not resist to present you the reference in terms of compact SDR Monitoring receiver. It is covering 9KHz to 6GHz with panscope up to 20 MHz, high agility, and a 1Gbit LAN interface for remote control...Among many other features.

Datasheet comprising some block diagrams can be downloaded here : http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/file/EB500_bro_en.pdf

Rocky...A simple SDR RX/TX software from DX Atlas | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

Here is a simple compact software that supports SSB modulation and PSK31 digital mode, in RX as well as TX mode. Panscope uses Polyphase FFT, a very efficient FFT method.

Perseus SDR Home Page

Perseus SDR Home Page | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

Perseus from MicroTelecom has been one of the first "open market" direct sampling receiver. It provides 10 KHz to 30 MHz reception throught a 14 bits 80 MSps ADC with an reasonable price. USB2.0 is used to interface with a conventional PC. Reception panscope can go up to 1.6 MHz bandwidth. A fairly good variety of SDR software support Perseus.

MultiPSK...For radio "Geeks" but it does absolutely everything in Digital transmissions !

MultiPSK...For radio "Geeks" but it does absolutely everything in Digital transmissions ! | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

Many people are reluctant to use MultiPSK, as it is considered as "too complex", or "not user-friendly". Maybe. However, it is by far the most complete software for decoding and transmiting in digital modes. It is compatible with a lot of SDR hardware, among which, all the I/Q hardware. Pure performance is usually outstanding in most of the modes. Last but not least, it can be interfaced to TCP/IP, as well as other systems.

SoftRock...The famous simple low cost SDR Hardware "for the mass"

SoftRock...The famous simple low cost SDR Hardware "for the mass" | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

The SoftRock hardware that appeared in the begining of the 21st century, gave a long line of simple products. SoftRocks are based on QSD (Quadrature Sample & hold Detector) for receivers, and QSE (Quadrator Sample & hold Exciter) when a transmiter is needed. QSD and QSE have been invented by Dan Tayloe and provide a direct conversion to I/Q interface.

MultiDem...The little MultiPSK's companion...

MultiDem...The little MultiPSK's companion... | Low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) Panorama | Scoop.it

MultiDem is from the MultiPSK's author. It provides a classical SDR transceiver for basic modulations (AM/SSB). One of the major advantages of MultiDem, is its efficient Transmit mode, where most of SDR PC-based software only offer reception, or poor Transmit mode.
