Portal Training's curator insight, March 21, 2015 12:53 AM

Without realising it, the way we speak is often the one barrier to effective communication that is overlooked.  People with a large vocabulary and a more articulate speech pattern seem to talk over the top of those who may have a limited vocabulary.   This in no way means one is better than the other - communication should never become an us and them competition, it should merely highlight the need for greater consideration on both sides of the conversation to ensure there is understanding on all levels.  Awareness and a little prior though and planning into what you want to say might be helpful.

Trisha Ahrent Beamish's curator insight, August 6, 2017 4:51 PM
