Neither a coup in terms of worker morale or brand image, Amazon has leaked a memo implying job cuts, denied it and then had to confirm that the company is proposing 16,000 job cuts in the months ahead.
It doesn't look like a great day for either Colleen Aubrey, a senior vice president at Amazon Web Services (AWS) who drafted the e-mail that was subsequently sent out in error. Ooops! Of course, it's also interesting in as much as AWS has been responsible for much of the company's recent growth.
