There is an impressive amount of social media articles to include blogs that are specifically meant to assist other companies in their efforts towards successfully publishing via social media. Individuals are blogging to help others potentially in the same field in which they are marketing to. It seems that trade secrets are few and far between. I believe this is because especially on a small scale, for a small business or a home business the time and effort needed to be successful in the world of social publishing is a feat that many attempt and perhaps a majority are not as successful as first envisioned.

How To Engage Employees in Social Media Marketing- Summary
David Hassel outlines five key steps proven by data to help motivate employees. It is to no ones surprise that everyone with a smart phone today uses social media. Constantly our generation is on their phone checking statuses, pinning our outfit of the day, or tweeting about how lame studying can be. Hassel has now shown that people who are connected to social media during the day can still perform at their peak levels or performance, maybe even more so than someone older who is not as connected. Now proven by data, employees are encouraged to act as social media marketing “ambassadors.” By these employees staying connected throughout the day they become more engaged in their work and draw the visibility the company needs towards them in this innovative marketing strategy. 33% of employees are already posting about their firm without encouragement, so imagine if it was encouraged? First Hassel believes it is important to develop a persona. Next, there needs to be a social media source. It may be okay for some employees to post content on their personal networks, but it is more professional if there was a board. That way content is filtered. Thirdly, it is important that employees are not burdened by social media, which means they should not feel that it inhibits them from their actual work. Next, the content that is posted on behalf of the firm needs to have a consistency to it. The audiences should be able to sense a single voice not a hodgepodge mess of memes. Lastly, Hassel encourages the firm to track statistics so the firm can gain an understanding of the impact their posts make.

'Having a Google+ profile is how you share public content on Google — from a restaurant review, to a YouTube video or comment, to an app rating, to a post on Google+. In addition to being the social underpinning of the Google family of products, it is also an important part of the search experience. ' |
