Look I’m the first one to tell everyone (whose not investing,) that whatever someone does with the funds they either raised or make is their own business, so let me be clear, I really don’t feel any business has an obligation to anyone but its lenders and customers when it comes to certain issues. Also, celebrities that do certain dumb shit and then want to hide within the culture is really some punk shit. Look if you did dumb shit and you get caught, own the shit and move on, period.
Tory Lanez has called out Angelica Nuwandu, the founder of The Shaderoom gossip site for cultural basterdazation at the behest of her lenders (which may or may not be true but really who cares...) The only person who should give a shit about the Shaderoom is Instagram because the Shaderoom is getting a free ride on Instagram api, or are they? Did Angelica use the $100,000.00 angel money to gain an advantageous position on Instagram by buying followers and likes (hmm...) and Instagram allowed it while charging others with spam (or allowing these sites to maliciously report spam charges on other new sites on the rise. Once again who cares...)
Look celeb sometimes are big babies and when the world is using you as a table to eat off of, the people around these celebs tend to enable a lot of this childish behavior as long as the checks keep coming. So, if you don’t want these sites telling your business. Keep your business off the table. Don’t ask these sites in the name of the community to only report on positive things (they will go broke and not enough followers will care. Look stupid shit drives views. That’s how this business was built (you can thank the National Inquirer for that...) TMZ and these sites would go broke if Celebs were not childish (I mean do really care if Kevin Harts a little league coach or do ya’ll relish when this dude or any celeb does dumb shit. That’s the business

Okay I know it’s been awhile since I rocked a GetAtMeTopTen, but I felt it was time to get back on track so here’s this week’s top ten. What I want to emphasize is that (frfr) you gotta have some sales (not just streams, it ain’t enough...) This week Young Dolph’s RNB ft Megan Thee Stallion would have easily been number one on my chart (based on radio and buzz impact. On my chart I weight everything radio, iTunes sales, Shazams, club and Buzz impact to get a true view of a songs performance...) but this cut had absolutely no sales on iTunes as downloads (what streams say to me is that you have a lot of lookers but no buyers #ImJustSayin) Urban Radio ain’t helping this situation by playing all these records that are not selling (60% of the charts this week had limited sales not in the iTunes top 200). If you didn’t know, what this tells ad people is that your marketing people are better than your music and, in these times, fluff don’t get a check cut.
Cardi is still at number one with Waps (why because she is truly selling...) Now I know that there are those who are gonna say “we’ll she did it with payola...” It doesn’t matter (one person's payola is another person’s budget. Its just how you look at it...). Ad people have to have sales numbers to move to the next level with sponsorship situations, period. Many in urban radio are losing their jobs because urban stations are becoming juke boxes that play music that’s not selling (if you can’t sell your music then how can I as an advertiser feel that you can sell a house. The music is just $1.29. The house (or some cars are usually at time in the $50,000 area. See my point.
So, if you want to get to number one, sells some music. that’s it period

Drake's LAUGH NOW CRY LATER took the number one spot with being #1 at 80% of the impact stattions. BRS KASH THROAT BABY was the real surprise coming in at #2 with a very active week in urban radio. Cardi B WAPS held it's own at #3 and Cris Brown GO CRAZY was #4. #5 is the real surprise as Dj Mustard BALLIN reentered the mix at the impact stations. That's this weeks GetAtMe Urban Radio Report.
Drake's LAUGH NOW CRY LATER takes the top spot this week with over 1000 plays in urban radio. Cardi B WAPS is still in demand. 3 of the cuts this week that moved didn't have enough Itunes sale to hit the top 200 (not good...) When urban radio play songs that are not selling the they cheapen themselves as a solution. At the end of the day urban radio is supposedly selling music to attract ears. So to be impacting record that are not selling is like shooting yourself in the foot in this not so favorable ad revenue market. So when the national agencies quit sending you that bread, well you did it to yourself. Play records that are selling, not just shazaming
This is a tough time for urban radio and the industry as a whole has to adapt or it will die. Urban radio will have no bailout so it better make better decisions with the music... (there's a reason that unknown beat maker is living in his mom's basement...

Man finally I was able to create a weighting system where I could bring new trending industry music with trending street cuts (you would never believe how far apart these two areas are and the industry battles that are incurred between the majors and indies...) Look at the end of the day this is an industry that feeds off of hit music and if you're working at a major label your current project is your priority. Many indies and new artist really don't get that. The music culture and music business often collide because they have such a different agendas. The agenda's that should matter is making money for the investors first then the label and then the artist and support staff and making relative and creative music for the consumers.
I hope this new mix series accomplishes this for both. It wasn't easy coming up with this but I got it done.
