Drake's LAUGH NOW CRY LATER takes the top spot this week with over 1000 plays in urban radio. Cardi B WAPS is still in demand. 3 of the cuts this week that moved didn't have enough Itunes sale to hit the top 200 (not good...) When urban radio play songs that are not selling the they cheapen themselves as a solution. At the end of the day urban radio is supposedly selling music to attract ears. So to be impacting record that are not selling is like shooting yourself in the foot in this not so favorable ad revenue market. So when the national agencies quit sending you that bread, well you did it to yourself. Play records that are selling, not just shazaming
This is a tough time for urban radio and the industry as a whole has to adapt or it will die. Urban radio will have no bailout so it better make better decisions with the music... (there's a reason that unknown beat maker is living in his mom's basement...
