Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has reduced the club’s debt by converting a further £72million ($87.5m) of loans into share capital.
It comes just 11 days after the Greek shipping and media magnate had written off another £82m of Forest loans.
It is a practice that the Forest owner has habitually followed in recent years. But the two latest tranches of cash are the biggest sums of money he has written off as loans so far.
In March 2023, Marinakis turned £41m of loans into share capital in the same fashion. He had converted sums of £12m and £20m in the two years prio
