Rethinking e-Portfolios

Rethinking e-Portfolios | Educational Technology News | Scoop.it

The diagramme reveals not only ownership issues, but possibly contradictory purposes for an e-Portfolio. Is an e-Portfolio intended as a space for learners to record all their learning – that which takes place in the home or in the workplace as well as in a course environment or is it a place or responding to prescribed outcomes for a course or learning programme? How much should a e-Portfolio be considered a tool for assessment and how much for reflection on learning?

Managing the Flow of Information in Social Networks: How do you do it?

Managing the Flow of Information in Social Networks: How do you do it? | Educational Technology News | Scoop.it

- Prioritize. The reality is that we can't keep up. Find your points of focus and follow those. Think about what type of information will improve your work. How much can you realistically read during a given week? (Hat tip to Alan Levine aka @CogDog.)
- Personalize. Decide what you want to know, need to know, and who specifically you want to follow. Where is the most current and relevant information coming from? Customize your own unique feed.
- Promote. Establish your own professional profile in one or more social networking sites.
- Participate. Join in the discussions and contribute as a participant in the exchange of information. Share your expertise and seek the expertise of others.
- Persevere. Managing the flow of information is not a one-time task. Be prepared to revisit your news feed periodically to add new sources and remove those that are no longer helpful.

3 Tips for Teachers Using Social Media to promote online learning in the Classroom http://t.co/GaXsdS7 #education #news...
Ricardo Mendoza's curator insight, September 16, 2021 7:28 PM
"The classroom can be lively, 24/7 experience" by using social media in the classroom you are able to look at what the class is discussing, updates, and if any comments from the classmates. Social Media is very easy accessible for the students as they tend to spend a lot of their time in it, but why not use this source for educational purposes as well it will facilitate students learning while being at home.
