It seems we may have another big, unpredictable storm close to home – MOOCs. (...) Like a storm, the higher education landscape is in a swirl and small pivots may produce large, important changes. We wonder whether this might be an early pivot . . . and potentially change who is in the path of the storm and who is considered safe – for now, until the next pivot... http://www.scoop.it/t/easy-mooc

... I find the Coursera model limiting in terms of effectively delivering instruction. Having said this, let me be clear that I have discovered a number of new concepts and am very pleased that instructors of Prof. Page’s quality are delivering content that I otherwise would never have access to as a learner. I am also already enrolled in other Coursera courses... http://www.scoop.it/t/easy-mooc

... Who takes MOOCs and who teaches them are interesting issues: thus far, it seems that MOOCs attract a diverse student body, comprising students from overseas, those who work full-time (in a variety of fields), continuing education students, and those for whom taking courses at Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, UT, or Stanford would be out of the question (for a number of reasons)... http://www.scoop.it/t/easy-mooc
