Reading Assessment as Inquiry??

L'avaluació de la capacitat de lectura és una tasca molt difícil. Això és perquè la lectura és molt complex. Quins són exactament els lectors fan quan llegeixen? Com entenen el que llegeixen? Purposeful play should be the central learning experience in early learning classrooms. It is a natural way of learning that supports creativity and imagination. But why should play be limited to primary classrooms only? It doesn't matter what age we are; we all like to play.

This is Trend #7 in the 10 Trends to Personalize Learning in 2015. The focus of the conversations was around the big question.

The Buzz About Social Learning

The Buzz About Social Learning | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

"Social learning—everyone’s talking about it. And if everyone’s talking about it, that means it must be fun, right? Like a party or an ice cream social? Add some sprinkles, and all your employees will be running to this mandatory training session. While social learning can be a fun, less intense approach to corporate training, it’s a serious learning strategy that can have huge results."

University student engagement using digital curation and career goal setting

University student engagement using digital curation and career goal setting | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Around the world, participation rates in tertiary education are on the rise and one of the key challenges facing educators is finding ways to engage these students. We present the results of a project that assesses the impact of an engagement strategy in which a cohort of students entering their first year of university (1) establish and maintain a clear goal of their ideal future career and (2) make use of a web-based digital curation tool to research and present their findings.

Both of us are advocates for the use of technology to support instruction and to help learners gain independent learning skills. For years, as coaches consulting on technology integration, we observed classrooms where technology sat idle or to present lessons using new tools but the same way they teach: teacher-directed. The current system seems to encourage the use of technology for traditional teacher-directed methods.

The system needs to change from focusing on problems to rethinking the design of teaching and learning around how learners learn best. Personalized learning starts with the learner, not the technology!
