Massive projects are all the rage right now. It seems like every country in the world got together and decided that the cool thing to do would be to spend billions and billions of dollars on huge infrastructure ideas that would shape the future to come. Sometimes these push for green energy, sometimes they push for jobs and sometimes it just seems to be about building something just to prove that the country can. Say what you will, but humanity has built a looooot of cool stuff just to prove that we could. The next big project that’s underway is the European high speed railway that’s set to possibly become the fastest on the entire continent.

This one will be built in the United Kingdom. After the completion of the nation’s first high speed railway, it wasn’t long before people began to talk about the second high speed railway. This would dwarf its predecessor in pretty much every way. It would be much faster. It would stretch farther. And most importantly it would be so much more expensive. Like however much you’d imagine, it’s soooo much more than that.

Despite the fact that the train is supposed to unite the country, it has actually caused quite a bit of division. Mostly because of that astronomical price. Seriously, it is insanely expensive.
