terry clarke's insight:
I found it very difficult that my daughter was reluctant to tell me the extent of the bullying she received from her teammates, and she later admitted that she knew I loved basketball and she didn't want to disappoint me and she was ashamed she "didn't fit in." I am still dealing with my guilt for not recognizing the signs earlier.

I am very pleased to see schools creating methods that allow bullying victims to report anonymously, which reduces the anxiety that many victims face when reporting their mistreatment and helps curb retaliation from school staff who may have been directly involved or turned a blind eye.
