Another major plus is that these integrated systems are compatible today with higher frame rates up to 120 fps in 3D and 60 fps in 2D, which make them a perfect match for playing out Hollywood’s upcoming HFR releases.
Easy DCP's with Qube Cinema FCP plug-in for digital releases
In yet another example of the democratization of tools, indie filmmakers can now make Digital Cinema Packages (DCP's) using a $700 plug-in to Apple's Final Cut Pro editing software.
Available at Qube Cinema's web store, the DCP mastering plug-in lets post houses and content creators output DCI-compliant DCP masters directly from the Final Cut Compressor. The system, called QubeMaster Xport, it is available in four versions. QubeMaster Xport 2K retails for $799. QubeMaster Xport 3D and QubeMaster Xport 4K are available for $1,798 each. Users who need both stereo 3D and 4K mastering, can opt for QubeMaster Xport 4K and 3D at $2,797.
Individual modules can be added after the initial purchase for $999 each. A fully functioning watermarked demo is available for download, allowing users to test out the software.
QubeMaster Xpress effortlessly guides you through the process of converting JPEG, TIFF, TGA and BMP images, Flash animations as well as AVI and Quicktime movies into standards compliant DCPs in DCI JPEG2000 and MPEG-2 MXF Interop formats.
Just as the home industry has moved to digital photography, the entire film industry and the entertainment industry as a whole is also moving to the digital age. Vehicle rigs and cable rigs also benefit from a wireless solution. For many years the <$3,000 Modulus 3000/2000 and then the Dynawave transmitters have been the most common product for SD wireless.
