Mr Wands, chairman of the Association of Film and Television Practitioners Scotland, said: “It is a national disgrace that Scotland is the only country in the UK and Europe that does not have its own film studio.
“At this present time the film and TV industry is worth more in revenue to Scotland than the oil industry, but we are losing out to other nations and regions across Europe because we lack this basic facility.”
Proposals have been made to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on studios in Dundee and on the outskirts of Edinburgh, with the latter suffering planning delays.

Even though we work in a 2-dimensional medium, there's nothing worse than having a 2-dimensional composition. Adding depth is crucial. There are lots of ways you can add depth to your shot -- you can place objects in the foreground and background, use a shallow depth of field, or employ the parallax effect. But one technique you should know and use every time you shoot involves lighting -- particularly creating depth by using contrast.

In order to determine a good luminous environment when employing LED lighting, it is suggested that Gamut Area Index (GAI) be used as a measurement.
