Belmopan had their Belmopan Day Fair this weekend.

The East Cayo Chess Association had their Summer Chess camp.  They also posted the winners of the Belmopan Day Chess Tournament. 

"The summer chess camp was very successful.  There were a good group of children that had a chance to not only learn a great deal about chess but got to do other activities like arts and crafts as well.  There were many people that contributed to the success of this effort."

Happy Belmopan Day!  They'll be having events all day to celebrate the birthday of Belmopan.  Public servants began moving into their new homes and offices 43 years ago.  There was an early morning bike race, there's a chess tournament, and there will be fun an games all day, along with some informational booths.  There will also be a dance tonight at La Cabana.

In related news, Miss Mikayla Banner won the Queen of the Bay Belmopan pageant.  Congratulations, Mikayla!

Belmopan will be celebrating 45 years on Saturday, August 1st.  It's looking to be a huge event, with great music from Panerrifix, the New Sensation Band, Supa G, Richie Galvez, and more, along with scores of activities for kids, and adults.  They'll have volleyball, softball, and basketball marathons too.  Happy Birthday, Belmopan!

The Belmopan Day Fair is this weekend at the Isidoro Beaton stadium.  They'll have food, games, live music, Ozzy the Clown, Cloud 9, sports, and much more.

Belmopan celebrated it's 43 anniversary this weekend with their Belmopan Day.  The East Cayo Chess Association had a chess tournament there.

"Yesterday there was a chess tournament in Belmopan that included young children all the way up to adults.  This was the first tournament held exclusive by the East Cayo Chess Association and it went very well - big congrats to the 20+ participants and, in particular, all those that volunteered to make it happen."
