Kerry Jaggers is one of drug history’s greatest bit players. He deejayed at gay discos in San Francisco in the 1970s and did lighting and sound at clubs for New Order, the Smiths and Moby in the 1980s and 1990s. Over the years he has come to know everyone—a sort of omnipresent, Forrest Gump–type character in the club world. In turn, everyone loves him. And so it was not out of the ordinary when, on an otherwise unremarkable morning in May 1984, Jaggers received a phone call from Grace Jones.
A decade after the “Save the Rainforest” movement captured the world’s imagination, Cargill and other food giants are pushing deeper into the wilderness.

The German poet Goethe never attended an ayahuasca ceremony, but his words contain useful advice for those wishing to explore visionary realms. In his poem The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Goethe describes…
In this webinar, we will explore the claims being made by various churches and groups that they can legally use ayahuasca (and other entheogens) in the US. Presenters will examine these claims through the lens of relevant legislation and court cases and contrast them with churches with legal status, such as the União do Vegetal (UDV) and some Santo Daime churches. The group Ayahuasca Healings’ petition to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for a religious exemption from the Controlled Substances Act will be examined for its viability. We will also touch on a number of best practices that could serve as measures for legal protection, lay the grounds for a future exemption process, and promote the integrity and well-being of those involved.

It is with much trepidation (and a long delay, my apologies) that I present a preview of the Songs of Ayahuasca CD that I've been preparing as a reward for our Kickstarter backers.
As you will see the it is a lot more ambitious than a collection of songs, it is designed as a journey through ayahuasca musical traditions, starting with the most ancient, in Ecuador and moving through Colombia, Perú, Brazil and finally the rest of the world.
The CD will be accompanied by ample notes in 2 languages as well as transcriptions and translations of the song lyrics.
What follows is a partial preview of the liner notes of about half of the tracks that will appear the 2 CD compilation.

This is the story of Val and Clare: a mother and a daughter. After the tragic death of her eldest child, Val left her kids and family behind and escaped into the Colombian jungle. Only 11 at the time, this film’s director Clare Weiskopf couldn’t understand what her mother was looking for. Thirty years later, when she becomes pregnant, Clare decides to confront her mother, heal the wounds of the past, and try to define motherhood on her own terms. Together they go on an intimate journey exploring the boundaries between responsibility and freedom, with all the guilt and sacrifice they entail. What makes someone a good mother?
