This is happening way too often now with restaurants and bars. We need to keep restaurants and bars open and social distance. You can’t expect them to survive with this second set of shutdowns when they are forced to close by the state or the local government or lose their license. This is difficult whatever way you look at it. Small business owners who are independent, it’s costing them thousands of dollars staying closed. Unemployment takes awhile so some are literally seeing no income. And you can’t really count the stimulus checks because some haven’t received those either.

Every now and then I will throw a local recommendation out there.
I called Job Done Locksmith to have a transponder key made for my 2014 F250 after accidentally throwing away the only key I have. Job Done Locksmith quoted me a time and a more than fair price, and Saul showed up 8 minutes early! An hour I had a new key fob and a transponder key that both works!
My truck was in the garage under my condo building. If I hadn't called Job Done Locksmith first, it would have cost me money to have it towed to the dealership, plus $100's more to have the Key fob made and programmed.
I would recommend Job Done Locksmith to anyone and everyone. The five-star rating rings true of what type of business they run — honesty, integrity, and professionalism.

Denver would be a "phenomenal" Super Bowl host city, said Mark Schlereth on Monday, but would the cost of stadium upgrades, or a new structure, be worth it?
Hey, they did it in Detroit 10 years ago, and it is not an ideal place to trust me. The economy and infrastructure may get a boost, it may not, but everything is negotiable. Hotel rooms and Airbnb would benefit, local business and restaurants and bars might do well. Traffic on the other hand? Ouch. Either way, it could be beneficial. Stressing it could. Might as well give it a look.

Charlie Brown's has some of the best burgers in Denver. Come try one and see for yourself. Black Angus grilled to perfection!
I went to Charlie Browns the other day for lunch and I have to admit it was the bomb. We showed up with no reservation and were told not to worry and to sit anywhere even though it was getting busy. The waitress gave us some water to drink while we waited and We were treated like royalty from the beginning. I know it's an old school bar but I had never been there at lunchtime. We ordered the chili fries to start and they were full of cheese and green chile in a huge portion. Perfect because I was starving. And then I ordered a burger. I figured it was a safe bet. Well, come to find out it was chargrilled. No one does that anymore. The beef really stood out. Whatever cut of beef it was it was perfect. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and will be sharing our experience with anyone coming to the city. Go...now!

Not sure about this list but according to Conde Nast it is the best restaurants in Denver. I have some thoughts. Most of the spots on this list are well known in name recognition. They are all good restaurants but are they great? Are they the best? It's all subjective. My favorite restaurant is Del Friscos, but I am a steak guy. And yes, it is a chain. Hotel bar, Charlie Brown's, boasts a famous literary background. Charlie Brown's occupies the northwest corner of the Colburn Hotel, a former hangout for the Beats: Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and their merry band of artistic free spirits.
I can remember going to Charlie Browns as a kid in the late'70s with my parents. The place is almost the exact same. It has the old pub style charm that is missing in a lot of new bars these days. It's Denver's "Cheers" but with a more diverse crowd now, which is a good thing. You can go to Charlie Browns and never be bored, hungry or thirsty. The prices are fair and the food selection is still vast. I still enjoy the piano bar and singing. I had the patty melt last time I went and guess what? It tasted just like it did 20 years ago. Good old fashioned fun!!!

Combined with the national audience Colorado received as the host of the recently completed season of “Top Chef” — a season in which Bar Dough executive chef Carrie Baird was one of the most successful contestants — these kind of projects are giving the Centennial State a much greater visibility with national foodies and restaurant developers, said Juan Padro, a partner in Culinary Creative Group.
So now we are exporting chefs and restaurants? Colorado still has a long way to go to be included as a top foodie destination but we are starting to get some recognition. The chef talent here is better then it used to be but I still think we are a ways off from being a must stop culinary destination like New York or San Fran. The ride up is fun though!

The theme this year is holiday cultural classics that are performed around Colorado each year, so rooms are inspired by such shows as "Polar Express," Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," and "The Nutcracker."
Ok, so not your typical "how to decorate your home for Christmas", but still neat to see the inside of the Governor's mansion. Glad to see the Christmas traditions alive and well in Denver.

On Saturday, January 14 the space that formerly held Cafe Marmotte reopened as Restaurant Olivia. It was an unusual transition. The team — consisting of Mizuna veterans and Bistro Georgette owners …
Restaurant Olivia recently opened in Denver. The focus is on handmade Italian pasta and first class service. Olivia also has unique cocktails and a nice wine list. Be sure to try the fresh focaccia bread, with basil-parmesan and balsamic butter. They make it daily. The care that goes into the pasta and bread alone are worth the trip.

Restaurant Olivia will be a pasta driven, neighborhood focused and Italian inspired restaurant in Denver’s Wash Park.
The beloved Wash Park restaurant Cafe Marmotte will become Restaurant Olivia in 2020. It will be owned by the team behind Bistro Georgette, which includes Chef Ty Leon, Austin Carson, and Heather Morrison. It is going to be an Italian concept but there are still a lot of French influences that will be kept. The Cafe Marmotte regulars are apprehensive about it changing but it could turn out to be a hit. Either way Wash Park is getting something new and exciting.

You only have a weeks left to try Denver’s best French restaurant.
Until the end of the year, the new Cafe Marmotte serves classic French food. Then, it will switch to an Italian menu.

1. Charlie Brown's Bar & Grill
An old-time lounge where locals sing tunes at the piano & tip back classic drinks on the covered patio.
2. Union Lodge No. 1
Slinky speakeasy serving 19th-century-inspired cocktails in glam, Prohibition-era environs.
3. Williams and Graham
Prohibition-era speakeasy in a corner bookstore with handcrafted cocktails, small plates & desserts.
4. My Brother's Bar
Laid-back haunt with no sign serving up burgers & beers while classical music plays on the speakers.
5. Green Russell
Stylish underground lair devoted to custom libations & small plates from chef-partner Frank Bonnano.
The reason I put Charlie Browns first is that there is a legend that it actually was a real speakeasy, not one of these modern speakeasies that act like they have been around since prohibition. It has true mystique and history. It is an essential bar in Denver.

DENVER -- The holiday season is here and there is a lot to do around Colorado.
From several ice skating options to Santa’s running down a street – Colorado is the best place to spend the holidays.
We have 31 events below – some for the whole family while others are just for the adults. And there’s even ways to give back to the community.
Not sure what your favorite plans are but during the Christmas season we like to go tree chopping in the mountains. Even if you don't want to get a tree, it's a blast to go out in nature and share hot cocoa, food and memories with friends and family. It's still close enough to Denver to be considered one of the best things to do!

As a "gigepreneur", I would like to think I am a part of Colorado's growing gig economy. It gives freedom to people like me to be able to freelance and make some side money. I do have a normal 9-5 job, but I also have a skill set that let's me make money as a independent contractor. This space is in fact growing in Denver, Colorado and it is exciting to be a part of.
