Melody Wright and Jack Gamble are sounding the alarm when it comes to the housing market in the U.S., and they see broken price discovery, glaring fraud that no one seems to want to address, and a massive decline in home sales as signs that it's probably best to sit on the sidelines until this house of cards inevitably comes crashing down.
Foreign investment has long played a significant role in the U.S. housing market. From luxury properties in major metropolitan areas to investment in rental homes across suburban and rural regions, international buyers impact home prices, inventory levels, and overall market dynamics.
The U.S. Supreme Court, by a 7-2 decision, blocked a federal judge's order mandating the Trump administration to reinstate 16,000 probationary federal employees fired as part of a broader government downsizing initiative. The court found that the coalition of nonprofits lacked the legal standing to sue, although the decision does not preclude other potential lawsuits from unions or affected employees. Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented, arguing against the administration's appeal. The firings, justified by the administration as performance-based, were criticized by Judge Alsup as a 'sham,' highlighting discrepancies in the reasons for the terminations. The ruling is a temporary victory for the administration's efforts to streamline federal operations, though separate legal challenges continue in other courts. The unions involved remain committed to challenging the firings, viewing the Supreme Court ruling as a temporary setback.

I recently sat down with Danielle DiMartino Booth, CEO and Founder of QI Research, to discuss the trajectory of the economy since the November election and President Trump’s inauguration in January.
In this wide-ranging interview, Danielle offers her remarkable insights into the direction of the markets under the disruptive trade policies of the Trump Administration. Her opinions cover the potential future of US employment, inflation, economic growth, and Fed policy.
Prior to founding QI Research, Ms. DiMartino Booth was on the front lines of the 2008 financial crisis, working at the Dallas Fed as Advisor to President Richard W. Fisher. Her research focused on financial stability and the efficacy of unconventional monetary policy.
Given the turbulent state of global markets right now, Danielle's deeply informed perspective could not be more timely as we navigate through today's uncharted economic waters.
Please join me for this fascinating conversation. I think you'll find it as beneficial as I did!
