Wireless networks are often insecure, and are notorious havens for attackers, who hang out in coffee shops, hotel swimming pools and anywhere else people congregate to the closest Internet connection, as they are easy targets to breach systems anonymously and steal personal data. Building a Community: Using Pictures There are many “buzz” words in education; filtering, understanding, and implementing concepts can seem overwhelming. Many questions arise. Why does it matter? This doesn't inspire confidence. Although I don't know why we're surprised by Facebook. We are the product as far as Facebook. Is concerned, it doesn't owe the users anything.
You've probably read dozens of paragraphs on how the next great theater of war will be online rather than offline, and how China and the US are already battling each other for cyber supremacy. The truth is, though, unless you've actually been hacked, it's hard to appreciate just how real the prospect of cyberwar actually is. Now, though, a security company has produced a fascinating geographic map that shows you hacking attempts in real-time -- and sure enough, you really can see China waging cyberwar against the US. There’s a direct correlation between moral character and success. We lose something very important when character is treated as an afterthought. A potentially serious security flaw has been found in Tweetdeck, the popular Twitter client. Here's what you need to know. In my opinion, Tweetdeck isn’t safe to use until the flaw has been fixed. So you need to quit Tweetdeck right now, and revoke its access to your Twitter account. Here’s how you do it: 1. Go to the Apps section of your Accounts settings on the Twitter website:https://twitter.com/settings/applications (If you are not already logged into Twitter, it will ask you to enter your password and two-factor authentication, if enabled). 2. Find Tweetdeck in the list and revoke its access by pressing the button entitled (imaginatively) “Revoke access”: read more...

Empowering Students In the Classroom When I think of change that needs to happen in Education, my immediate thought goes toward student autonomy. To be autonomous as a student is to be able to independently manage the freedom one has in the classroom, while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the teacher. For a student to be autonomous, a student must realize:

These two words used together are important – very important. In the legal profession, we must use a moral compass because we meet people who have lost their way. We have to make sure, at all time, that we do not head in the wrong direction also. Take time to meditate about the meaning of the word “moral compass” to you. Learn more:

A really excellent article on something that can be hard to define and practice, and yet is such an essential skill for life. I really like the distinction Terry Heick makes between thought and knowledge and the interplay between them.
Our study during World Cup indicates one in four networks are dangerous and you must take care to avoid substantial loss. Recent developments in the smartphone world and the emergence of mobile apps for almost every use inevitably led to increased smartphone and tablet usage when dealing with sensitive data. Be it your CV on LinkedIn, private pictures sent to your lover via WhatsApp, Viber or other similar app, one-time password for online banking – you send and receive such data on your mobile device. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize how often and how easily that data, which you would never trust to most people around you, could be intercepted by a complete stranger seated ten meters away. Security threats come at us from all sides these days, and it’s a constant battle of “us vs. them” to find and catch the bad guys before you end up in the news and people get fired or resign. Organized cyber-criminals and nation state cyber-terrorists strike deep and lingering fear in us all for the extent of the damage they can cause with one breach.
