Hyperconnectés, le cerveau en surcharge, c’est undocumentaire passionnant qui a été diffusé sur ARTE TV, le samedi 3 septembre 2016 à 22h et gratuit sur ARTE+7 en mode replay jusqu’au 10 septembre (voir en fin d’article).

Réalisé par Laurence Serfaty en 2016, ce documentaire de 52 minutes s’intéresse aux informations qui nous submergent en permanence : emails, SMS, réseaux sociaux… En se posant cette question : les informations nous submergent en permanence. Ce trop-plein menace-t-il notre cerveau de surchauffe ?

Smartphones, ordinateurs et tablettes, nous relient en continu au monde. Mais ce déferlement d’informations menace notre bien-être. Ce documentaire propose un tour d’horizon desrisques de l’hyperconnexion et quelques remèdes possibles.

Notre cerveau sans cesse sollicité par les services numériques

Chaque jour, des milliards d’e-mails sont échangés dans le monde. Les SMS, les fils d’actualité, les réseaux sociaux, lesapplications mobiles font également partie intégrante de notre quotidien connecté, tant au bureau que dans notre vie privée.

Nous disposons ainsi d’un attirail technologique qui sollicite sans cesse notre attention. Comment notre cerveau réagit-il face à cette avalanche permanente de données ? Existe-t-il une limite au-delà de laquelle nous ne parvenons plus à traiter les informations ? Perte de concentration, stress, épuisement mental, voire dépression… Si les outils connectés augmentent la productivité au travail, des études montrent aussi que le trop-plein numérique tend à diminuer les capacités cognitives.

Este artículo plantea una reflexión crítica sobre el ritmo acelerado de los cambios impulsados ​​por la inteligencia artificial (IA) y cómo esa aceleración puede superar nuestra capacidad para pensar de forma consciente, crítica y autónoma. El autor sostiene que la tecnología, especialmente la IA, no solo transforma procesos y tareas, sino que también influye profundamente en cómo percibimos, procesamos y reaccionamos ante la información en nuestra vida cotidiana. Tal intensidad de estímulos puede llevarnos a consumir contenido de forma automática, sin detenernos a cuestionar su significado o impacto. En este contexto, se propone la necesidad de un “#THINKReboot”, un reinicio del pensamiento que promueva la pausa, la reflexión y la crítica profunda antes de aceptar y reaccionar a los mensajes digitales. Esta idea conecta claramente con la alfabetización digital enseñada en educación, donde no basta con acceder a información, sino comprenderla, examinarla y cuestionar sus supuestos y efectos sociales y éticos. Relacionándolo con los contenidos de la asignatura de educación digital, esta propuesta enfatiza la importancia de desarrollar habilidades como el pensamiento crítico, la conciencia ética y la autonomía cognitiva. En un entorno donde algoritmos y plataformas moldean preferencias, decisiones y hasta comportamientos, formar estudiantes que puedan desacelerar, analizar y cuestionar es fundamental para evitar la pasividad y fomentar una participación digital responsable.

En “AI Knows You Better Than You Know Yourself… Or Does It?”, Gust MEES (2025) plantea que la inteligencia artificial puede revelar aspectos de la identidad personal a partir de datos digitales, sugiriendo que la IA podría “conocernos mejor que nosotros mismos”. Si bien esto invita a reflexionar sobre la huella digital y la autorreflexión, el argumento carece de respaldo teórico sólido sobre los límites de la IA en la comprensión de la subjetividad humana. Como señalan estudios recientes, los sistemas de IA predicen patrones basados ​​en datos observables, pero no acceden a la conciencia ni a la experiencia interna de las personas (nature.com, 2025). Además, la reducción del yo a datos cuantificables ignora dimensiones tácitas del conocimiento personal, como la metacognición, que Polanyi (1966) describe en su paradoja: “sabemos más de lo que podemos decir”. Por ello, la IA puede ofrecer insights sobre comportamientos y preferencias, pero no sustituye el autoconocimiento humano, actuando únicamente como una herramienta de apoyo crítico.

Este artículo invita a reflexionar sobre cómo la inteligencia artificial (IA) interpreta nuestra identidad digital a partir de nuestra actividad en línea y nos reta a cuestionar si realmente “nos conoce mejor que nosotros mismos” o si simplemente refleja los rastros que dejamos en el entorno digital. El autor explica que cada comentario, clic o publicación se convierte en parte de nuestro perfil digital, y que la IA, al procesar estos datos, puede dar una imagen amplia de nuestros intereses y actitudes. Desde una perspectiva educativa, este análisis es especialmente útil para comprender el alcance y los límites de la IA como herramienta de aprendizaje y análisis. No se trata solamente de obtener respuestas automáticas, sino de entender cómo nuestros datos y decisiones construyen esa “visión” que la IA tiene de nosotros. Este artículo explora un concepto muy relevante para nuestra era digital: el “AI-footprint”, es decir, la huella que deja nuestro contenido en el desarrollo futuro de la inteligencia artificial. A diferencia de la huella digital tradicional, que se refiere a publicaciones o interacciones en línea, el AI-footprint analiza cómo nuestras palabras, imágenes o código pueden ser absorbidos por modelos de IA durante su entrenamiento y, con el tiempo, influyen en la forma en que estos sistemas “piensan” o producen respuestas. Desde la perspectiva educativa, este enfoque es especialmente importante porque nos hace reflexionar sobre el impacto ético y social de lo que publicamos: ideas, estilos de redacción e incluso sesgos presentes en nuestros contenidos pueden ser incorporados en sistemas que muchas personas utilizarán en el futuro, potenciando o perpetuando ciertos patrones de pensamiento. El estudio “Bridging the Trust Gap: The Mediating Role of Patient Satisface in Medical Empathy” (Bai, Li & He, 2025) analiza cómo la empatía percibida de los médicos influye en la confianza del paciente, mediada por la satisfacción recibida. Los resultados muestran que la empatía tiene un impacto positivo directo e indirecto a través de la satisfacción, evidenciando su papel clave en la relación médico‑paciente (frontiersin.org). Sin embargo, el estudio es transversal y se limita a un solo hospital, lo que impide inferir causalidad y restringir la generalización. Igual que desde las primeras edades se pone el foco en el respeto hacia los demás. A medida que los niños y jóvenes se introducen en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías y las redes sociales deben seguir teniendo esta idea muy presente. El respeto debe ser una practica activa tanto en la interacción directa con otras personas, como a través de los recursos digitales. El logro de un respeto entre individuos en todos los ámbitos contribuirá a una mejora del estado emocional en general y de los niños y jóvenes en particular.

Todo ello nos hace pensar antes de reaccionar ya que nuestras decisiones en el entorno digital conllevarán consecuencias duraderas.
