If you’re going to make YouTube work for you – and you should – then you totally need to understand what the purpose of your video is – and deliberately build that purpose into the video. If you do that, then a percentage of those YouTube viewers will take the action that you want them to – probably to go to your website.
Once you get viewers of your videos over to your website then you’ve got the chance to sign them up to your newsletter, or take another action that furthers their relationship with you. And gives YOU the chance to build the trust and authority that’s necessary to convert a viewer to a subscriber, and then from a subscriber to a customer.
