This is a very interesting presentation for a number of reasons - prime among which is the fact that a number of very influential international organisations and funders are taking the notion of "One Health" very seriously.
That is, the development of reagents and vaccines that can be used for agents that cause both animal and human diseases, such as avian influenza, Nipah and Hendra and Rift Valley fever viruses, and so on.
Great idea - and one we are trying to address with making such things in plants!

New human polyomviruses keep being discovered - what are the consequences of infection?

It is fascinating to see the rate at which new viruses are being described - and even from humans, when might have safely assumed a little while ago that nearly everything that did anything had long been characterised. But not so - as this, and doubtless other papers going through the mill, will tell us. Maybe even one from here in Cape Town...B-)

...and found another cyclovirus - not closely related at all to teh one found in Viet Nam, apparently.
Meaning there is probably a wealth of 'em out there.
