The June issue of the REHVA Journal is now out! This issue focuses on "EPBD IV (2024) Implementation on its Way & Shaping the Future of EPB Standards". The transposition deadline of 29 May 2026 for the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EU/2024/1275) has now passed, and this issue takes stock of where Europe stands. Contributions from REHVA member associations in Denmark, Finland, France, Latvia, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland offer a firsthand picture of national implementation efforts, a mixed landscape, with some countries notifying complete transposition and many others still working through complex legislative processes.

Extreme heat is an urgent and growing public health threat, driven by climate change and exacerbated by urbanization and population ageing. It increases morbidity and mortality, strains health and social care systems, and disproportionately affects populations at increased risk. Heat–health action plans (HHAPs) are a core public health response, enabling countries to anticipate and prepare for extreme heat, protect populations at increased risk, strengthen health system resilience, and reduce avoidable illness and deaths. This second, updated edition of WHO guidance on HHAPs supports countries in developing, strengthening and implementing such plans at national, regional and local levels. It offers an implementation-oriented framework, structured around eight core elements: governance; heat–health warning system; populations at increased risk; communication; health system resilience; reducing heat exposure; heat–health surveillance; and monitoring, evaluation and learning. The guidance also includes user action briefs for key sectors and a public health message bank to support effective risk communication with the public. It translates accumulated evidence and implementation experience into practical actions, tools and decision points for coordinated heat–health risk prevention and response. While tailored to the WHO European Region, it is adaptable to other contexts.

Healthy Indoors: Innovation and Research in Air Quality is an international scientific conference that will bring together researchers, health professionals, policymakers and key stakeholders to discuss the latest advances in indoor air quality (IAQ) research and its impact on health and wellbeing. Organised within the framework of the European project K-HEALTHinAIR, the conference will provide an open scientific forum welcoming contributions beyond the project, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between science, technology, public health and policy. Over two days, the programme will address key topics such as continuous monitoring using low-cost sensors, exposure to chemical and biological pollutants, health effects in different indoor environments, and the role of artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches in supporting IAQ management.
