When it comes to online CAT tools I personally consider Memsource as one of the better ones – it’s reasonably fast, offers decent functionality and usability... Still, it’s not the same as memoQ when it comes to comfort and features, so whenever possible, I process Memsource files in memoQ. Unfortunately, things like match rate and translation status are not imported by default and need some tinkering. I have created two templates, that can be used to import Memsource files in a bit more comfortable way...

I'm certainly no expert on knots, but I do like them... The image on the left is actually a Carrick Bend and it’s another one I like… simple to use and yet brilliant for joining two ropes together. I used this as the image for my article simply because it’s a very loose introduction to the idea of how every new app on the SDL AppStore seems to provide another opportunity to string apps together and deal with problems that would be tricky with Studio alone. I love that!

TransTools v.3.16 has been released.
The new version can remove additional tags in Word documents that contain text written with “symbol fonts” such as Symbol, Wingdings, etc. Symbols from such fonts are similar to images and so they are displayed as tags in CAT tools, making them difficult to understand and use in the translated text. The new option finds the majority of symbols from standard symbol fonts and replaces them with readable characters from standard fonts, reducing the number of tags and improving readability in your CAT tool.
The latest version also contains other tag cleaning features introduced in TransTools v.3.15 (see http://www.translatortools.net/news/features_v3.15.html).
