Luanda – The central Benguela province will host on 2-5 November an international atelier to validate the stories in the vernacular languages.

The event will be promoted by the Ministry of Culture, under the auspicious of the Latin Union.

Angop learnt on Monday from a press note from the Angolan National Commission for Multiculturalism and Plurilinguism – Oral Tradition and Plurilingual Education Project of the Ministry of Culture.

The meeting aims to validate 40 stories and prepare the pedagogical works.

L’objectif de ce projet est d’améliorer la qualité et l’efficacité des systèmes éducatifs et surtout de réduire les échecs scolaires (redoublements, abandons en cours de scolarité). Par quel moyen ? En développant le système d’enseignement bilingue, langues africaines-français, dans les premières années du cycle primaire. Le projet est mis en oeuvre dans huit pays d’Afrique subsaharienne.

‎"Deculturalisation (brain-washing) is the stripping away of one’s ancestral culture (e.g. language) and then systematically replacing it with a foreign one. As a result of the above, Africans are forced, still, to see the world through one set of European lenses (language, practices...) and then define who they are. This robbery of African cultures is the backbone of European domination in the continent today, this we must know.
