He was arrested in late February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest followed a tip-off from Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, who suggested Mandelson was a flight risk. Allegations against him include claims of leaking sensitive government information to Jeffrey Epstein. Mandelson's lawyer has denied the allegations, calling the suggestion that he was planning to leave the country "baseless".
