There is one thing, though, that an alarming number of the recent mass shooters in the United States share: A history of aggression and violence toward women. Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 32 people in the horrific massacre at Virginia Tech in 2007, had been previously investigated for stalking two female classmates. Elliot Rodger, who killed six and wounded 13 in Isla Vista, Calif., in 2014, was obsessed with perceived rejection by women, and not long before the shooting had thrown coffee on two women at a bus stop because they failed to smile at him. Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who murdered two police officers in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2015, shot his ex-girlfriend in the stomach just hours earlier. Cedric Ford, who shot 17 people last year at the Newton, Kan., plant where he worked, killing three, had been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend and had been served with a restraining order not long before the shooting. Robert Dear, who shot and killed three people at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, in 2015, had a history of domestic violence and harassment toward women. And Omar Mateen, who murdered 49 people at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, physically abused his wife for years, beating her because she had not finished the laundry or a similar offense.

Nick Scaturchio, 19, of Stamford, was charged this week with violating a judge’s protective order, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, risk of injury to a child, robbery, larceny and threatening. Scaturchio, a 2015 New York Daily News Golden Glove champion who competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials and is a USA Boxing national champion, remained silent during his arraignment Wednesday at the Stamford courthouse. According to an eight-page arrest affidavit, the girl told police on June 5 that Scaturchio violated a restraining order that had been issued a few days earlier. The girl said the abuse began as psychological with Scaturchio preventing her from seeing friends and using her cellphone to make Facebook posts in her name, the affidavit said.

Bobbi Kristina Brown's ex boyfriend Nick Gordon was arrested earlier today on two charges—one for domestic violence battery and the other for kidnapping/false imprisonment of an adult in Florida. According to the booking sheet, the 28-year-old was taken into custody and booked in Sanford, Florida on Saturday. TMZ reports that the adult victim is Gordon's girlfriend and that he allegedly beat her up on Friday night, which sent her to the hospital. The outlet, which has also posted photos of the alleged injuries, also says that the victim filed a police report earlier this morning claiming that Gordon had battered her and not allowed her to leave the house.

According to Columbus police, Karl Kenyonn Harris was charged with domestic violence and assault after he was accused of beating his 17-year-old daughter with a belt. The assault caused serious bruising, according to police.When patrol officers attempted to arrest Harris, they were unable to locate him or two other children.
