Mohamed El Barkani, a Moroccan photographer based in Germany, recently switched from the Sony Alpha DSLT system to the Olympus OM-D E-M10. To accompany his brand new mirrorless camera, he decided to invest in the Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14mm f/2.8, one of the four lenses in Olympus’ PRO series.
It’s a ridiculously familiar story: man starts with whisky, man hits up geek: gets lost; man loiters, cultivating his craft, garnering accolades and geek street cred. Man’s business expands. Man begins to hate his clunky A7r. And, many whiskies later, he wonders why the hell he’s wasting dosh renting Phase One backs. He saves. He saves. He saves. It’s a story you’ve heard a million times.

Earlier this fall I had the opportunity to do a family photo shoot in Central Park. I’ve talked about family photography tips here on the blog before, and I’ve even written an article over at Digital Photography School about it. Between kids running around and parents wanting to get the perfect shot for their holiday card, there’s no... Continue Reading
After the review of the exceptional Samyang 135mm f/2 (see here and here), here is another interesting lens from Samyang: the 100mm ED UMC f/2.8 macro.
Samyang is going all-out with their latest releases, seeking to cover every conceivable focal length and user request. As with any other Samyang lens, the macro is the same optical formula across systems, with only the flange distance differentiating it for each mount. I used it on MFT and Fuji-X cameras, but, again, all results are releva

While the holiday season is usually one of joyous times spent with family and friends, it can also serve as a time for remembrance and deeply felt love. This is the case for my neighbours, Uby and Cindy Paul. The Paul’s daughter Christina was five or six years old when she first became enthralled with the lights and …

Despite looking dead-sexy on a Leica M240, the 35mm f/1,5 LTM Canon, aka "Japanese Summilux" isn't the Canon I fell in love with. I fell in love with the 35mm f/2 LTM Canon, aka "Japanese Summicron", about which I wrote this ohmage.
This is not the review. It's just a first impression of the X100T. The full review will be up in a few weeks.

We were in a market for small camera, something that one could carry around all day.
