It is no secret that I have a passion for everything Spanish and for many years my wife and I have wanted to visit the costal city of Barcelona. I can certainly say the wait was worth while. Speaking of the new Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2. I am crazy about it. The lens I used is a Fuji test lens, I don´t have my own, but I will be the first in the line with Fujifilm Brasil. Sharp, sharp and sharp. And I can add here lightness and a much faster autofocus if I compare to the Canon 85mm f/1.2 L that I used in my old gear. I didnt make any scientific test, but based on my experience with the Canon lens, this Fujinon is a state of art, This session I shot all in JPEG, all in color with Astia simulation film. Later on my computer I played with the follow Alien Skin software filters: Fujifilm Neopan 100 Across, Kodak Tri X 400, Fujifilm Sensia 100, Fujifilm Provia 100 and Velvia 100. Each filter was used in a different situation I felt was appropriate.

I love the opportunity to be able to work with different formats. From m4/3 with it's extensive DOF to the differential focus and bokeh of 35mm / 'Full-Frame'. There are signs of Spring here in the UK and every year I relish the beauty and colour of crocuses as they signify the end of another winter. Spring is my favourite season, both spiritually (it lifts my spirits) and photographically (I love Spring light.) And while endless summer is undeniably appealing, I've always thought the hope, promise and rebirth that Spring gives us should last longer than a few months.
