The new frontier for real estate agent's exists online. This should sound very obvious to all of you. But for some reason (maybe because the avg. age of a realtor is 57?) most agents ignore this aspect of their business. This is ludicrous. While there are many facets to the online game, one of the most important is social media. If done properly, then it can be a great source of new leads.

Hats off to Paul for putting together this powerful list of social media bloggers!! EVERYONE starts their home search online. And what key words do you think they're looking for? What are the odds that your name/company might pop up in the Google search results? If it's not the case, I would start reading up how these bloggers and SM players go about getting on top of Google results! Nothing to lose and everything to gain -- plus you might end up making lots of like-minded real estate friends/colleagues :)

While searching for the best marketing technique in real estate, I took a commercial real estate class from a lady once who's mantra was, "All real estate is microeconomic." The four P's of marketing apply in real estate too. Placement, Price, Product, Promotion. I had a marketing prof who included a fifth P, which was Person. All of those P's must be in alignment for any marketing strategy to work as intended. Consider who your person is; create the appropriate promotion; put it in a place they will notice it; advertise the desired price and for the desired product. The appropriate and effective marketing mix will be "microeconomic" or geographic specific, more appropriately. I would love to hear your views on this?

Pinterest is one of those hidden gold mines when it comes to online lead generation. And for real estate agents, this platform can be especially beneficial. One of the top content types on Pinterest revolves around home design! But there are many stumbling blocks...most of which are in your own head. Here is a quality infographic shared by Bill Gassett to help you change your mind.

Do you use Stumbleupon as a social media channel for your blog content? I do and have found it a good place as far as page views to my site. The big question is the bounce rate which can increase from people who just go from site to site and either choose a thumbs up or thumbs down without actually reading the articles.
