There are many reasons to develop remotely piloted systems. While we are still in need of physically going to places ourselves at times, the coast and mechanics of doing so can be daunting. We should keep exploring and pushing, but Remotely Piloted Systems can help get us to some places and illuminate some things more cheaply and with less risk.

Some folks are using UAS for commercial purposes without much concern about the FAA's regulatory powers. As long as they keep their UAS below 400 feet and away from people, they feel like they are safe from citation. Are they? Should they be acting that way?
