Home Seller Mistakes Selecting A Real Estate Agent

Home Seller Mistakes Selecting A Real Estate Agent | Real Estate Articles Worth Reading | Scoop.it

Top Home Seller Mistakes When Selecting A Realtor.

Bill Gassett's insight:

Selling a home is not something that should be taken lightly after all it is usually someone's largest asset. Without a doubt though so many sellers do not take the necessary time to carefully select a Realtor. For some reason many folks think that all real estate agents do the same things to sell homes. This is completely false! In fact 94% of all real estate sales are done by 6% of the real estate agents. There is no 80/20 rule in real estate. This makes it imperative to interview multiple agents and not make a mistake selecting the Realtor you choose to work with. Considering the above statistics it is easy to make a poor selection!

Tips From Top Agents: Bill Gassett on Social Media Strategy

Tips From Top Agents: Bill Gassett on Social Media Strategy | Real Estate Articles Worth Reading | Scoop.it
Bill Gassett is an agent with 25 years experience in the real estate business. He provides his advice and tips for success in the real estate market.
Bill Gassett's insight:

I was fortunate enough to be asked by Veterans United to share my social media strategy to help my real estate business. One of the things I am highly fond of is using Google Plus on a daily basis. See my thoughts on using social media for real estate.

Marianne Lalonde's curator insight, February 21, 2014 4:54 PM

Bill Gassett is a top-producing Realtor in Framingham, Mass., with more than two decades of real estate experience. Bill has more than 28,000 Google+ users in his circles and over 15,000 Twitter users follow Bill’s profile pages.

If you ask Bill “If you could only use one social media site, which one would it be and why?

He will answer

“Without question it would be Google+.

This is interesting to me because here in Ontario, Canada, only about 25% of the real estate contacts I have on Linkedin are on Google+. And, that’s probably because many of them are looking for places to post their latest listings, and that’s not Google+.

For Bill, Google+ is more than just a social network; it’s a tool that is integrated with Google, and Google means visibility. By participating in Google+, you not only become more visible with your peers but also with people searching for real estate related topics.

Google authorship goes hand in hand with using Google+. Google Authorship is claiming the content you write so that when Google displays search results they may possibly display your photo next to the result.

Why sellers should get a pre-listing home inspection report ...

Why sellers should get a pre-listing home inspection report ... | Real Estate Articles Worth Reading | Scoop.it
Three reasons why home sellers should consider getting a pre-listing home inspection report.

Via MC2 Home Inspections Denver Colorado Home Inspectors
Bill Gassett's insight:

Probably one of the most underutilized things that home sellers could be doing in preparation of selling their home is getting an inspection themselves before the buyers inspector comes in and rips their home apart.

Far too many sellers focus on making their home "pretty" than by looking over the most important components that offer serve either as deal breakers or bones of contention that come up during home inspection negotiations. Getting a home pre-inspected allows a home owner the opportunity to correct known issues so that the chances of their sale going by the wayside go down substantially.

Even if there are no major issues, a seller can take care of all the little things that come up like double tapped circuit breakers, a non function ground fault interrupter (GFI), a rotted piece of trim or a broken window seal. Spend the time doing a pre-inspection will be well worth it.
