Un programme bilatéral de coopération technique est en cours depuis 2015 dans le domaine des Indications Géographiques (IG) entre la France et la Turquie. Initialement, en mars 2015, un séminaire d’échanges des expériences françaises et turques avait permis d’analyser la situation des IG en Turquie. Les experts de l’INAO, du Ministère de l’Agriculture et du CIHEAM y ont notamment fait des présentations. Un programme bilatéral de coopération technique a alors été élaboré pour 2015-2016 entre nos deux pays.

Le gouvernement a lancé en 2010 un projet pour promouvoir l’agriculture flexible et durable, grâce à un système de surveillance satellite. Grâce à une application spécialement conçue pour les agriculteurs de Turquie, 3000 agriculteurs détenteurs de tablettes numériques ont accès en temps réel aux données agricoles à travers un intranet gratuit, fourni par le gouvernement. Les données récoltées touchent à des facteurs allant de la qualité du sol à la température atmosphérique, et de la vitesse du vent aux signes annonciateurs de catastrophes naturelles à venir. Les agriculteurs partagent les informations avec leur communauté locale, afin que chacun puisse évaluer quelle récolte privilégier, à quel moment planter, etc., et obtienne ainsi de meilleurs rendements.
