With interoperability soaring high on the health IT agenda, Rewired 2020 will have a whole track dedicated to the well-debated topic.
As an issue which has been cited as the highest priority for NHS IT leaders two years in a row in Digital Health Intelligence’s annual NHS IT Leadership Survey, interoperability within healthcare could transform how medical records are shared.
The Interoperability track will explore latest developments and examples of interoperability and use of the key standards, such as FHIR, that enable interoperability at scale.
The track includes a great line up of speakers and two afternoon panel sessions exploring progress to date on interoperability and what remains to be done. The first panel will be jointly delivered by PRSB and InterOpen; followed by a TechUK panel revisiting progress in the five years TechUK’s Interoperability Charter and next steps.
Key speakers include Terence Eden, head of open technology at NHSX, who will be talking about how to truly ‘bake in’ interoperability in healthcare and Massod Nazir, associate CCIO for primary care at NHSX who will be discussing interoperability in primary care.
Paul Jones, chief digital information officer at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust will be talking about why interoperability remains hard for health and care organisations

Quatre médecins généralistes de moins de 50 ans sur cinq utilisent tous les jours les 3 principaux outils de e-santé : le logiciel d’aide à la prescription (LAP), le dossier patient informatisé (DPI) et la messagerie sécurisée de santé (MSSanté). Mais si ces derniers les plébiscitent, leurs confrères de plus de 60 ans ne sont que 48% à les utiliser. L’outil le plus utilisé est le DPI à 97%, puis le logiciel d’aide à la prescription (93%) et la messagerie MSSanté (89%).

(...) A.I. to detect the spread of an epidemic
At the beginning of the SARS outbreak, China covered up the existence of the virus from both its citizens and the world. Even if China seems to have become more transparent in those matters, some might still not be convinced. To circumvent those trust issues, artificial intelligence can be a solution.
As a matter of fact, Toronto-based health monitoring A.I. platform Bluedot beat both the WHO and the CDC to the punch when issuing warnings about the Wuhan virus’ spread. It even correctly predicted the virus’ likely path from Wuhan to Tokyo after its initial appearance. Bluedot calls itself “a digital health company that uses big data analytics to track and anticipate the spread of the world’s most dangerous infectious diseases”. By going through piles of information about news reports, airline data, and reports of animal disease outbreaks, Bluedot’s algorithm can identify a trend which is then analyzed by epidemiologists. The company then shares the information to its clients.

“We happen to have growing access to data we can use … to generate insights and spread them faster than the diseases spread themselves,” Bluedot’s founder and CEO Kamran Khan told The Canadian Press. A.I. is also being used to model Ebola outbreaks using movement data. By having an A.I. sift through the available data and make informed predictions which are cross-checked by experts, relevant bodies can contain such diseases before they even leave their source of origin.

La E-santé ou Santé Numérique, c’est quoi ? Spontanément cela évoque la santé connectée, celle qui fait appel aux applications pour smartphones, paradoxalement destinée au grand public en bonne santé et non aux malades. Cependant, la e-santé offre également un pan plus médical. L’e-santé regroupe 2 grands domaines : Les systèmes d’informations de santé (SIS) ou hospitaliers (SIH) qui forment le socle de la e-santé. C’est la partie invisible pour le grand public puisque c’est celle qui organise les échanges d’information entre ville-hôpital ou entre les différents services d’un même établissement hospitalier (ex : l’exploitation du dossier médical partagé (DMP), le système de la carte vitale etc…) La télésanté qui regroupe la télémédecine et la m-santé : – Télémédecine : consultation en visioconférence (téléconsultation), surveillance à distance d’un patient malade (télésurveillance), échange d’avis entre médecins (télé-expertise) – M-santé : la santé via les smartphones et applications. Elle regroupe par extensions les objets connectés concernés : bracelets, capteurs de paramètres physio etc… Les Usages en Autisme Les nouvelles technologies sont très utilisées dans la prise en charge et l’accompagnement de l’autisme. Comme le rappelle la FIRAH dans sa revue de littérature « Autisme et Nouvelles Technologies » : Les outils numériques correspondent au profil autistique car l’informatique est organisée avec des lois prédictives, ce qui correspond à la manière de penser des personnes avec autisme. En outre, ces outils permettent des renforcements immédiats, souvent très utiles pour des enfants avec TSA. Ces outils sont utilisés sous différents supports que ce soit l’ordinateur, les applications smartphones, les jeux vidéo et serious game ou encore avec le développement de la robotique. Ces outils peuvent être une médiation utile dans le cadre des apprentissages ou de la prise en charge et s’utilisent dans différents domaines : gestion du quotidien, communication, autonomie, interactions sociales, compétences motrices, programmes éducatifs, stimulation sensorielle etc. L’Agence Nouvelle des Solidarités Actives a réalisé une cartographie en 2019 sur les usages du numérique pour les personnes en situation du handicap. Pour les TSA, le document liste les opportunités du numérique suivante : Diagnostic et évaluation Outils (tablette, plateforme de télé-médecine…) permettant de diagnostiquer ou d’évaluer l’évolution des troubles. Apprentissage Imiter les mouvements et apprendre la communication non verbale grâce à des Robots et Kinects (détection de mouvement). Éducation Plusieurs solutions éducatives ont été développées spécifiquement pour les enfants autistes, leur permettant de mieux se concentrer. Exemple : expérimentation CLIS’Tab menée dans des classes CLIS de l’Académie de Créteil auprès d’élèves porteurs d’autisme pour évaluer le potentiel pédagogique de tablettes tactiles et de ressources numériques adaptées. Vie quotidienne De nombreux outils et applications permettent de faciliter l’autonomie et la vie quotidienne des personnes ayant des TSA. Elles peuvent également favoriser les interactions avec d’autres personnes en permettant d’apprendre à reconnaître les émotions faciales et d’identifier leurs causes et exprimer ses émotions.
