Incubators for Immigrants

Incubators for Immigrants | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

The foundation ‘Incubators for Immigrants’ wants to help refugees to build a new economic and independent existence in the Netherlands. Therefore, we’ll provide them with knowledge, financial support and assistance with the set-up of their own private Dutch company. And we’ll help to give them a residence permit faster than usual. We hope to give the refugees a goal and we hope that we can take away the hopelessness of this situation. Besides this, we simultaneously work together to ensure that there is a societal, cultural and economic contribution to the Dutch society. Incubators for Immigrants has been founded by a group of entrepreneurs, who prefer to resolve things rather than to start an endless conversation. Curious? Want to participate? Read the frequently asked questions.

Vote that the Greek Islands Receive the Nobel Peace<br/>Prize for their Contributions Aiding the Refugee Crisis! | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it
The native populations of the Greek Islands in the Aegean Sea (and many other external, worldwide, non-profit organizations and diaspora Greeks) have done and are doing anything possible to help the displaced Syrian refugees and make them as comfortable as possible, although they themselves have very little to offer, despite being subjected to a severe economic crisis for many years. They have shown their Christ-like behavior with acts of "filotimo", love, respect and "filoxenia" to those who are total strangers to them! Their acts and sacrifices shall not go un-noticed, because they are significant contributors to World Peace and Stability, and are clear examples of LOVE for others in the world to use and to learn from!

Food as a Way to Help Refugees and Build Social Solidarity | David Bollier

Food as a Way to Help Refugees and Build Social Solidarity | David Bollier | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

Can food be used as a way to bring strangers together, if only for a meal or two, and create the beginnings of a new type of community? Penny Travlou, a cultural geographer and ethnographer at the University of Edinburgh, decided to find out. In an interview posted on “Social Innovation Europe,” an EU website, she talks about her experience in co-organizing “pop-up dinners” that bring together immigrants with local Greeks in Athens. The idea is to use meal preparation and eating together as a way to break down cultural barriers and support migrant integration in Greece.

End the criminalization of solidarity to refugees NOW! | Δίκτυο για τα Πολιτικά και Κοινωνικά Δικαιώματα | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

With the time passing we learn to expect everything from the "first time left" government of SYRIZA, but we stand shocked in front of the criminalization of solidarity to refugees, a policy which resembles increasingly the policy of its predecessors and the one of its European partners.
