Ministry of Digital Infrastructure NL Established

Ministry of Digital Infrastructure NL Established | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

In line with the expressed wish of our King, his highness Willem Alexander, to improve  ‘verbondenheid’: cooperation and connectivity between people, I have established ‘het Ministerie van Digitale Infrastuctuur‘ (ministry of digital infrastructure NL #MinDigInfra) ‘van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden’. Such ministry must provide leadership and policy on the continuity and improvement of the digital infrastructural facilities that enable our interwoven communities, society and business ventures to flourish and create wealth in a trans-local and transnational context.

Hackerspacing in Europe: MadSpace in Eindhoven!

Hackerspacing in Europe: MadSpace in Eindhoven! | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

Eindhoven has a very interesting history. Phillips was founded here back in the late 1800′s, with a single factory, but in the past century it grew into what could almost be called Philip’s City. A stretch of a few kilometers of Phillips buildings dominated Eindhoven and almost everyone worked for them. Fast forward to the present and most of the buildings have been sold and turned into other businesses.

Providing the information in the app requires accurate, up-to-date data from the various government entities on bike parking and strict enforcement zones. Luckily, when Romijn started developing Bike Like a Local, he already had a lot of experience with government open data. He’s developed several apps using open data, such as Openbaar Vervoer, which gives realtime status for Dutch public transport.

Local Currency: Makkie | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

In these times of economic crisis, losing jobs and facing insecurity on so many levels, more and more people have to live a bit on a budget. Shopping and splurging in fancy restaurants isn’t as much fun when you have to live on bread and peanut butter the rest of the month, right?

#School 6 - Knowmads NL

#School 6 - Knowmads NL | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

Knowmads works around the concept of Learning Spaces, and the ideia that students are capable of taking control of their education. Which means that you must be willing to have the unknown ahead of you, and a very entrepreneurial profile. They have a coworking space, with tools and materials to test and create prototypes, that all “students” have acess to. And give you two of the most important and most negleted gifts education can give you: Tools to build what you love, and freedom to actually do it.

Social Safari » Amsterdam Sharing Capital

Social Safari » Amsterdam Sharing Capital | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

More and more people are sharing what they own, reusing what they have, and working together where they can. Citizen participation, social entrepreneurship and environmental responsibility have become increasingly common than in the last decades. For governmental organisations this leads to the question how they can jump on the bandwagon. And also, what are the remaining tasks for governments? What do citizens expect from a government when they are more self-organised? And are there people left out and forgotten when new networks and partnerships arise?
