There has been quite a bit of buzz around the Nikon D800 / D800E focusing issues and one of the most recurring topics of discussions seems to be around the asymmetric focus issue (left AF focus issue).
It seems that Amazon UK no longer has a D800 waiting list because they expect the camera to be in stock on June 21, 2012. Posted by NikonRumors.com This RSS feed is copyrighted and cannot be republished in any way without permission.

"Before the advent of the Nikon D800 and D4 there was no choice if you wanted a full frame DSLR shooting 1080P video – it had to be a Canon. This past week, I and several other members of the photo and video press and bloggers have been guests of Nikon Europe in New York on the “48 hour challenge”: getting our hands on production models of the D800 and being allowed to shoot what we wanted."
"The two Nikon full-frame cameras, the D800 and the D4, occupy the top two places in the full-frame category. Simple and efficient. Still, be careful: as ever, in this review we are discussing only the D800’s RAW-image-based sensor results. We will follow up with DxOMark results for compatible lenses for this camera whose small pixel size promises to be very challenging. Returning to the sensor, the D800’s Overall score is the best that has ever been achieved, and its use case scores are equally impressive..."
This Nikon D800 vs. D700 ISO comparison was initially posted on the techbang.com.tw and my understanding is that it was later removed. I have not seen the original post and I don't know all the details, but I assume those are 100% crops.
Hello, I've got a new D800 and found light reflection inside the viewfinder when I pointing to a bright light. I never had this problem with my D7000, so I am wondering if this is normal for D800. Thanks for your reply.
When Marissa Mayer was named new CEO of Yahoo recently, Los Angeles-based journalist Sean Bonner posted an appeal for her to 'please make flickr awesome again', signing it 'the Internet'. On his blog, Bonner commented that flickr, was acquired by Yahoo in 2005, needs someone to 'put some support behind it, bring it up to date, give it an actually functional mobile app and commit to keeping it alive'...
Nikon's AF-S 24-85mm f3.5-4.5G ED VR is a new general-purpose zoom lens that works on the complete range of Nikon DSLRs and is fully corrected for full-frame, FX-format models.
After a couple month long wait, and a tough decision to jump the Canon ship and come back to Nikon, the D800E finally arrived in my hands this week. I hope to get to be able to write about my overall impressions and offer an ...
"Nikon has announced the AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm F3.5-4.5G ED VR, a comparatively affordable, stabilized, variable aperture standard zoom lens for full frame cameras. It comes as Nikon celebrates the sale of the 70 millionth Nikkor lens since 1933, and the 30 millionth silent-wave motor lens since the system's introduction in 1996. It's hard not to interpret the announcement as lending weight to the rumors of an affordable full-frame body, since it's hard to imagine large numbers of D800 owners using a lens with a recommended price of $599 as their everyday lens."
Can you spot the problem? In a statement to PDN Online, Nikon USA acknowledged the D4/D800 lockup issue that I reported a month ago (several readers and other websites have reported similar issues).
I uploaded few Nikon D800 sample images on flickr that I took during the weekend. There are few cropped images, some high ISO samples, with and without post processing. See the description of each photo for more details. You must check also the full resolution version of each image (go to->actions->view all sizes). Needless to say that I am very pleased with my D800 purchase.
This is a shootout of the new Nikon D800 and Canon 5D mkIII DSLRs, with a focus on the video quality in particular. More more detailed info, you can read my write-up of the tests at www.crisislab.com.
"Cinevate launched an interesting new addition to their Simplis rig range last week. The Trawly is basically a set of wheels that are combined with a Simplis baseplate to allow a whole range of camera moves."
