I first learned of (and fell in love with) both Elestren and Elowen on a family holiday in Cornwall when I was 13, in a Cornish name book in a gift shop. (I totally missed the opportunity to get that book with my pocket money, as I haven't been back to Cornwall since.) Elestren has always been my favourite of the two, I think because of its more fantasy-ish sound.
