And Annebelle, Luie, and more.
Popular baby names are often replaced by new choices similar in sound and feel.
Clare's insight:
Most of these predictions seem reasonable - I look forward to finding out (and wish we didn't have to wait another 10 months or so for the UK 2012 stats!)

Actress Poppy Montgomery and boyfriend Shawn Sanford welcomed their first daughter earlier this week. Her name has a floral motif, just like Mom—Violet
Reflections on Violet Grace being bang-on-trend (in a good way) - and yes, with a mother named Poppy, the family is certainly very floral.

Flavilla was the daughter of a 19th-century Cape Cod sea captain. Her name, which I discovered in a local cemetery when I was a kid, is what kicked off my lifelong interest in names.
Gravestones are great sources of name treasure. I wonder if there was a vogue for names ending in -illa in the mid-19th century?

An interesting bunch. I'm of the opinion that Joan is due for a comeback (I know a 2-year-old Joan who'd be ahead of the trend), and also think Jessamine deserves a bit more use.
