This "huge poll" about baby names does sound interesting, although I'd recommend reading this Daily Mail article with your best critical thinking head on (for example, how can we quantify how many parents choose names based on "fashion trends" when everyone's choice creates the trends?)

I think this is a lovely variation on Bethany (which, as the post says, has ranked highly in England and Wales for a number of years). It's only allowed to be used as a second name in Portugal.

An interesting post (interesting, that is, with the help of Google Translate) in which the author questions reasons why others think a name is bad or unusable, such as being too old-fashioned or being from a fictional character. It sounds like she sets out to keep a more open mind, accepting only very strong arguments against names and encouraging others to do the same.
