What do you think of the name Arianne? Is it too much like the word aryan?
Clare's insight:
I'd say no - and the more people called Arianne there are, the less likely it is.
Some of my favorite names that are not getting much love for modern babies. Tell me, why do you think some names are overused and some remain forever obscure? Is our society just not ready for the more unusual but historic choices?
Clare's insight:
More Aveline and Amadeus? Why not?
Holly Willoughby loses her cool with the former Apprentice star as she rants about children's names and how they're related to class and behaviour.

Clare's insight:
Welcome, Aden!

Clare's insight:
A short and sweet interview about naming triplets, who (I think) have not yet been born.

Clare's insight:
Funnileigh enough after British Baby Names' comment about trendy -leigh names (a few scoops above), here are some interesting stats.

I'd never have guessed these; what an interesting series. Looking forward to the boys.
Girls names ending with th range from classics like Ruth and Elizabeth to obscurities like Aldith and Blithe. Would you use one of these -th ending names?
Clare's insight:
YES.
I think names ending in -th are the bees' knees, especially those Anglo-Saxon beauties. Elswith could be seen as a bona fide contraction of names like Æthelswith and Ealhswith (King Alfred's wife*), a bit like Elmer for Æthelmær etc.

"Angel Thomas, aka Dantea, our Classical names specialist, offers some ancient Greek deity appellations especially appropriate for a summertime babe. wdyt?"
