36 members of the Senate Democratic caucus sent a letter to Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) demanding that he and Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) allow a vote on a bill that would block gun sales to suspected terrorists.

In spite of all their bigotry and bluster, the Republican party leadership in Congress must make what shouldn't be a difficult decision: Act wisely to stop the real terrorists from acquiring weapons on the open market, or sit on their hands and do nothing while our adversaries accumulate more firepower to use against innocent, unsuspecting civilians and their families.
