As Alfred shares he will listen to Jon's many more times. We are so used to hearing: "Been there, done that." For me I can listen to a speaker numerous times and always come away with some nuance I had missed in all the previous listening.
You might say paraphrasing the Little Prince: It is with the heart that one sees and hears rightly. For what is essential is invisible to the eye and silence to the ear.

Mindfulness goes beyond improving emotion regulation. An exercise in mindfulness can also help with that plague of modern existence: multitasking. Of course, we would like to believe that our attention is infinite, but it isn’t. Multitasking is a persistent myth. What we really do is shift our attention rapidly from task to task. Two bad things happen as a result. We don’t devote as much attention to any one thing, and we sacrifice the quality of our attention. When we are mindful, some of that attentional flightiness disappears as if of its own accord.

When someone works too hard, or trains too hard, there is a diminishing return. For those that talk about multi-tasking, the research shows that it isn't multitasking, it the ability to switch from one focus to another. The end result is that one does not do as well as someone who focuses on one thing at a time.
