The reality of growing tomatoes in Britain, as the largest tomato farmer, APS Group, illustrates how it's facing a significant increase in costs across its six sites in the UK and how it has diversified production, producing less of the most expensive to cultivate tomatoes in favour of alternative crops such as cucumbers and aubergines.
